Maria Mitrizaki began her studies at the Modern Conservatory of Thessaloniki and in a short time period she realized her love for music and revealed her talent in violin. Several years after, from a student, she became a violin teacher.
Her musical studies began at the Modern Conservatory of Thessaloniki where she took her diploma with “Distinction” and honors. She graduated from the Department of Music Science and Art of University of Macedonia, specialized in violin and with “excellent” grade as well as, from the Musik Folkwang Hochschule in Essen where she studied in the department “Artistic education in musical instruments” in the class of Prof. Mintcho Mintchev.
She has great musical distinctions. She took S.O.TH’s scholarship for her performance in the violin, she was awarded with the third prize in the National Violin Competition of H.O.N and won the S.O.TH contest of Vivaldi as soloist with the conservatory’s orchestra.
She won the second prize in regional student competitions and a music scholarship from the Onassis Foundation in order to attend seminars of chamber music in Switzerland (5th Rencontres Musikales de Geneve).
She has participated in seminars as an active member of Av. Kavakos, St. Kafantari C. Georgiadi, C. Demertzi, E. Ntragkneva, K. Galilee, A. Stankov, V. Oistrakh, F. Agostini and M.Mintchev. She also participated, in concerts with the National Orchestra and the Symphonic orchestra of Thessaloniki.
She is now working as a teacher of violin on music schools and conservatories.
